HP 8924C Service Monitor with Spectrum Analyzer and Tracking Generator (60Watts Input) If you are looking for a service monitor and have thought of an HP 8935, Marconi 2955B, IFR 1200S or Motorola R2600; It would be best to consider this unit instead. HP 8935 does not have all the tone encode decode(like DCS) function nor auto tune. Auto tune is very useful when working with channelize radio, like CB, marine, commercial and air band radio. The HP 8924C will automatically tune the transmit frequency and start making measurement. Many IFR service monitors do not have this function (example: IFR 1200S or COM-120B). Marconi 2955B does not have spectrum analyzer or tracking generator and limited tone encode decode functions. Motorola R2600 spectrum analyzer have slow refresh, and tracking generator is limited to 50Mhz sweep. The HP 8924C will allow you to sweep the entire frequency range from 30mhz to 1Ghz(useable range 5mhz to 1Ghz). This is different from many of the HP 8924C sold on ebay, which will only measure up to 3 watts. This has a 60W continuous RF input and will measure up to 100 watts for a short time.
