The Anritsu UMTS Master ™ MT8220A is a reliable test solution for RF engineers and technicians working in the field for installation, planning, and maintenance of modern cell sites. It is a cost-effective and portable solution with proven performance. It combines transmitter analyzer functionality for verifying and validating base station transmitter performance and well-known Spectrum Master (MS2721A) spectrum analyzer. As a whole the MT8220A is a lightweight, cost-effective and battery-operated test tool.

The MT8220A model by Anritsu comes with great flexibility and frequency ranges suitable to GSM/GPRS/EDGE and WCDMA/HSDPA testing and a 7 GHz spectrum analyzer span as well. It weighs around 2.9 kg with its rechargeable battery inserted, has SVGA color transmissive display (LCD) screen easily readable in daylight, is capable of handling input power levels to 20W (+43 dBm) without damage, can display a maximum of six markers on screen in Spectrum Analyzer mode, and it comes with eight pre-installed languages, including Italian and Korean

This unit is designed for straightforward operation and ease of testing. As an example, consider Spectral Emission Mask measurements. For ease of analysis in the MT8220A, the spectral emission mask can also be viewed in a tabular format with a PASS or FAIL indication with respective frequency ranges.

 The MT8220A is an ideal choice for the field as it supports dedicated routines for one-button measurements of various parameters, including ACPR and C/I (carrier to interference) ratio. It automatically sweeps as fast as possible while keeping itself corrected for accurate results.  The UMTS Master MT8220A applies an antenna factor while measuring for antennas loss or gain.
