Description
Keithley 580 Micro-ohmmeter
The Keithley 580 is a powerful, microprocessor-based Micro-ohmmeter with numerous advanced capabilities. With this model, resistance measurement is possible from 10 μΩ to 200 kΩ with 41/2-digit resolution on seven ranges, within 0.04% accuracy of the reading. The Keithley 580 is offered with three different sets of test leads: Kelvin probes, standard leads, and Kelvin clip leads. An optional battery pack is also available for applications where line power isolation and portability is required. For digital calibration, the 580 has front panel controls. Calibration is also possible through the IEEE-488 bus interface (optional).
This model comes with a ±20,000-count LCD capable of displaying range and status information. For external trigger and measurement, banana jacks are provided on the back panel. This model operates in 4-wire configuration; two for sense and two for the source. In dry circuit test, the Keithley 580 provides 20mV maximum source voltage and 1V in other scenarios. The 580 compensates for thermoelectric EMFs automatically when it is operated with pulsed test current. To minimize the power delivered to temperature sensitive components, the user can utilize a single trigger mode of operation.
The Keithley 580 can be operated by 105–125V or 210–250V line voltage at 0–60Hz. The Keithley 580 offers a typical conversion rate of 3 readings/second. A selector switch is available on the back panel, which allows the user to select the appropriate line voltage level. This model weighs around 3.2 kg, in its standard configuration and is 89 mm. tall, 24 mm. wide, and 300 mm. deep.
