8566B by Agilent is a Microwave Spectrum Analyzer in the 8560xE/EC series. 8566B features a Frequency Range of 100 Hz to 22 GHz and an RF input Connector of Type N female.

The Agilent 8566B Spectrum Analyzer is ideal for bench and system use with unmatched measurement speed, microwave frequency preciseness, and sensitivity. With options and measurement accessories, this model can suit a variety of needs including: broadband signal surveillance, component stimulus response testing, and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing. This Spectrum Analyzer has a frequency range covering 100 Hz to 22 GHz.

The Agilent 8566B has 16 Kbytes available of RAM for saving trace information, instrument states, and customized downloadable programs (DLPs). All pieces of displayed data can be transferred to a plotter when the sweeptime reaches 20 ms or higher. Option 2 will improve the already fast measurement speed even more. It will make the internal processing speed almost twice as fast. However, sweep speed is not changed by this option. Complicated measurement patterns can be generated on an external controller. Then, programs can be saved in user RAM and initiated with one custom soft key. However, simple measurement patterns can be entered on the front panel of the 8566B Spectrum Analyzer, saved in user RAM, and initiated with one custom soft key.

The Agilent 8566B Spectrum Analyzer can be used for EMI troubleshooting and pre-qualification testing, when used with components and accessories such as: current probes, antennas, line impedance stabilization networks (LISNs), EMI measurement software, positioning equipment, a quasi-peak adapter, and an RF preselector. An increased dynamic range scalar measurement function can be provided on this model with the 85644A or 85645A portable tracking sources. These portable tracking sources enable the user to measure transmission and reflection characteristics of devices.
