Description
TDK Lambda EMS 600-4-2 Power Supply
The TDK Lambda EMS 600-4-2 Power Supply has voltage outputs and current channels are "ORed" through diodes CR31 and CR27. Therefore, it gives a programmed crossover of current to voltage control and vice versa. During 600w / 1KW and 2KW / 2.5KW, the blending of U5 and Q10 ensures that in the current channel the output can never fall to far underneath the voltage output. This diminishes the transition period in the crossover. The extra attenuation of the output of the analog channels is given by R64, R65, R66 and (R67 and R68 for the 5KW) before the indicator is fed to the input enhancer of the modulator.
The EMS 600-4-2 includes a Pulse Width Modulator (PWM); the PWM of unit is an UC1524A IC. This IC performs many assignments. The principle capacity of the PWM may be to change the error signals from the voltage and current error amplifiers to a pulse width adjusted signal, (CLK1 and CLK2) which may be proportional to the error voltage. The pulse width modulated signal may be fed to the inverter to control the output current and voltage. The 1524 function additionally gives an exact 5.1V DC reference, which will be utilized for the under and over voltage lockout circuits. The PWM also holds an enhancer, which changes the error signals phase by 180° (at DC), so the signal within the PWM has the legitimate phase. The PWM additionally provides an oscillator used to control the recurrence the pulse width modulated signal.
In this model, regulation of under 0.1 % of the maximum rated output is supported over the whole range of the input line voltage provided.
