Many types of unsymmetrical modulation signals, including FM telemetry and digital FSK squelching patterns can be coupled to the FM connector on the front panel.

    The Agilent 8664A Signal Generator has an interior audio source that creates waveforms at rates as high as 400 kHz. The audio output has a standard bandwidth of 400 kHz which affects complicated waveforms with frequency components higher than 400 kHz. There are five types of internal audio waveforms available when accessing Special Function 130, including: square, triangle, sine, white Gaussian noise, and sawtooth.

    For general purpose applications, the 8664A RF Signal Generator has a wideband FM with rates as high as 6 MHz for simulation of various newer digital systems. The best part of the 8664A for component tests is the clock source with low phase jitter, which is ideal for high speed digital components. The most useful feature of this model for Radar/EW testing is the optional pulse modulation with internal delay and width adjust. Lastly, the most helpful part of the model for avionics if the coverage of many weather and avionics radars. Option 8, pulse modulation, can create correct pulse widths and delay internally.
