    Description

The PXI-2590 is a high-performance, 4-Channel, 1.3 GHz Bandwidth Multiplexer designed for a wide range of signal routing applications. This versatile module comes with a part number 777987-01 and is engineered to accommodate systems requiring high-speed signal switching with minimal signal distortion. Each channel of the PXI-2590 is capable of handling signals with an impedance of 50 Ω, ensuring compatibility with a variety of test and measurement setups.

At the heart of the PXI-2590’s reliability are its electromechanical, non-latching relays that offer a typical operating and release time of 15 ms. These relays are constructed with gold-clad silver contact material, which provides an excellent balance between conductivity and durability, supporting up to 5,000,000 mechanical cycles and 100,000 electrical cycles. This robust design ensures long-term reliability and performance across countless switching operations.

The PXI-2590 is capable of handling a maximum switching voltage of 24 V (both channel-to-ground and channel-to-channel) and a maximum switching current of 1 A, with a maximum carry current also at 1 A. It delivers a maximum switching power of 24 Watts, making it suitable for a broad range of applications. The module’s DC path resistance starts at <1 Ω and may increase to >1 Ω towards the end of its lifecycle, ensuring efficient signal transmission throughout its service life.

Integration with PXI systems is facilitated through the module’s support for trigger signals. Input trigger signals can be routed through PXI trigger lines 0-7, with a minimum pulse width of 70 ns, and output trigger signals are dispatched with a 1 µs duration through the same lines. Connectivity is further enhanced by the inclusion of 5 x SMB jacks, allowing for straightforward and flexible connection options.
