Description
Agilent 41800A Active Probe
The Agilent 41800A is an Active Probe designed to be used with spectrum and network analyzers for analysis across circuit signals. This model comes with a broad frequency coverage from 5 Hz to 500 MHz, 100 kΩ, 3 pF input impedance. The 41800A features a retractable, metal protective sleeve to protect the probe`s tip from physical damage and ESD. The low input capacitance of this probe offers a probing experience with a small amount of circuit loading, making this probe effective for precise in-circuit measurements.
The Agilent 41800A is a viable solution to improve the user’s circuit design and evaluation for video, audio, HF, and VHF bands. This probe can be coupled with a spectrum analyzer to evaluate the quality of different circuits by measuring spurious levels, noise, and harmonics. Its usage with a network analyzer will enable the user for measurements across gain, phase, and group-delay at the circuit-level.
The Agilent 41800A Active Probe is designed to operate by getting probe power directly from the front panel of the compatible spectrum and network analyzers. However, it can also be used in configurations where probe power is provided from a dedicated probe power supply such as the Agilent 11899A. The output connector is a 50 Ω N-type male connector. Its gain remains around 0 dB ± 0.5 dB @ 50 MHz. While operating at <300 kHz, the average noise level remains round +3 dB/Oct. For this model, an optional type BNC male adaptor is also available on the market and can be purchased separately.
