Description
HP/Agilent 6264B DC Power Supply
The HP/Agilent 6264B is a high-functioning DC Power Supply with 0 to 20 volts at 0 to 20 amps output, constant voltage and constant current operation modes, a built-in overvoltage crowbar safety feature, and auto-series, auto-tracking, and auto-parallel operations. The auto-series, auto-tracking, and auto-parallel links typically should not be comprised of greater than three power supplies. If a certain application necessitates the operation of greater than three power supplies in any of the aforementioned types of links, then a specialist should be consulted for further help.
The 6264B DC Power Supply can function while floating at a maximum of 300 volts above ground or with the negative or positive output terminal grounded. This DC Power Supply is cooled by the convection method, which means that free flowing air is needed past the cooling fans only on the back panel. For maximum functionality, the HP/Agilent 6264B should be operated in an environment with an ambient temperature less than 55 degrees Celsius.
If the user would like to link numerous loads to a single DC power supply, then every load should be linked to the power supply’s output with individual pairs of linking wires. This will reduce the effects of mutual coupling between loads and optimize the power supply’s low output impedance. Every pair of linking wires must be as short as they can and either twisted or protected to minimize noise effects. Furthermore, if the load regulation is critical, then remote voltage sensing should be utilized.
