The HP Agilent 6274B General Purpose DC Power Supply comes with many advantageous features, including: remote programming and sensing, auto-tracking, auto-series, and auto-parallel operation, constant voltage and constant current operation, and built-in overvoltage crowbar protection. On the front panel, the user can easily find the crowbar trip point adjustment and related overvoltage indicator. This model has a transistor series-regulator/triac-preregulator circuit to reach high competency, great regulation, low noise and ripple, and modest programming speeds. An important fact to note is that the 6274B is a full-rack width power supply.
This model has individual fine and coarse current and voltage controls. These controls enable the current and voltage outputs to be altered from zero to the full rated value. Crossover from constant voltage to constant current operation happens automatically if the load current goes over the predetermined value decided by the current control settings. One feature of the HP Agilent 6274B that is different from many of the other power supplies in the series is that it employs a cooling fan, instead of being convection cooled.
