    HP Agilent 6434B DC Power Supply

    The HP Agilent 6434B is a general-purpose DC Power Supply, created for medium to high-power applications that need a variable or fixed dc source with modest regulation and ripple. This power supply is a constant voltage and constant current type. The 6434B has large panel meters, which the user can read clearly. The panel meters monitor output voltage current unceasingly. On the back panel of this model, input and output power, remote programming, remote sensing, auto-parallel, auto-series, and auto-tracking links are connected to bus bars and terminal blocks.

    The HP Agilent 6434B DC Power Supply comes equipped with several safety features. Overload protection is standard in constant current/constant voltage operation, but there are other built-in safety features, including: fused ac input and reverse voltage protection. Another feature of the 6434B is that it can be linked in auto-series. A maximum of three lower power models (6434B-6448B) may be linked at a time. Yet another beneficial feature of this DC Power Supply is that the voltage and current outputs on it can be programmed by a remote resistance or a remote voltage source.

    When the HP Agilent 6434B is powered from a 50 Hz source (which can be accomplished with the use of Option 5), the rms ripple and transient response specifications increase by 50%. The p-p ripple specification will not be altered by the line frequency. This model has a load effect voltage of 40 mV, a load effect current of 200 mA, a source effect voltage of 18 mV, and a source effect current of 200 mA.
