Description
Keysight 6684A DC Power Supply
The Keysight 6684A Power Supply has a voltage between 0 to 40 V, a current between 0 to 128 A, a voltage rms of 1.0 mV, and a peak-to-peak of 10 mV, and its programming accuracy (at 25 +/- 5ºC) has a voltage of 0.04% + 40 mV and a current of 0.1% + 65 mA.
The 6684A Power Supply indicates the tests that are performed in response to this command. These tests do not obstruct ordinary operation or cause the output to change. The command returns a value of "0", if all tests pass. Otherwise, the command returns the error code of the first test that failed. No error codes are displayed on the front board and the power supply will attempt to proceed with typical operation.
The easiest and most effective method for troubleshooting microprocessor-based instruments is by using signature examination (SA). This method is like signal tracing with an oscilloscope in linear circuits. Part of the microprocessor memory is dedicated to SA. A referred bit stream is produced to stimulate as many nodes as possible inside a circuit. Since it is basically incomprehensible to analyze a bit stream with an oscilloscope, a signature analyzer will be used to compress the bit stream into a four-character signature. This instrument will ask the user for a password to access the calibration mode, this password is usually going to be the model number (6684 in this case).
