Description
Keysight 81134A Pulse Pattern Generator
The 81134A Pulse Pattern Generator manufactured by Keysight is ideal for applications involving digital device characterization. This model has several main modes: burst mode, pulse pattern mode, and repetitive burst mode. Burst mode allows the output of a burst containing information occurring n times, along with ongoing zero information. Burst mode can be initiated by pressing the start button, applying a signal at the start input, or conveying a command via the remote links. Pulse pattern mode enables every channel to be set individually to any of the channel modes available on the 81134A. Lastly, repetitive burst mode chooses a repeated burst containing information occurring n times, then a halt of p times zeros of an equal length as the information prior to the information being repeated.
The user has two different options to designate the pulse width on the 81134A Pulse Pattern Generator. The first option is to make it an absolute value in nano seconds or pico seconds. While the device is in absolute mode, the pulse width will remain continuous even when the frequency or period is altered. The second option is to set the pulse width as duty cycle. While the Keysight 81134A Pulse Pattern Generator is in duty cycle mode, the duty cycle will remain continuous even when the frequency or period is modified. An important fact for the user to remember is that the width modification feature is not accessible if the data mode is not designated to NRZ mode.
