    Description

    Item #: 8562EC
    Manufacturer: Agilent
    Series: 8560xE/EC

8562EC by Agilent is a Portable RF Spectrum Analyzer in the 8560xE/EC series. 8562EC features a Frequency Range of 30 Hz to 13.2 GHz and an RF input Connector of Type N female.

The 8562EC RF Spectrum Analyzer is designed by Agilent and has a frequency range extending from 30 Hz to 13.2 GHz. This model has a +/-1.0 dB absolute amplitude accuracy, displayed average noise level (DANL) of -151 dBm/Hz, and < -113 dBc/Hz phase noise at 10 kHz offset. This Spectrum Analyzer also offers a quick digital resolution bandwidth of 1 Hz to 3 MHz. The maximum safe input level for the Agilent 8562EC to the 50 RF input is +30 dBm with a minimum of 10 dB input attenuation. One note of caution is to not surpass the maximum safe input levels because this can result in harming the input mixer and attenuator.

For the 8562EC Spectrum Analyzer, the carrier power measurements such as on-power and off-power are utilized to measure a burst RF signal. A carrier power measurement is performed on a standard cellular radio signal. The signal must be a burst RF signal with around a 20 ms burst time. While making a carrier power measurement, the resolution bandwidth must be set to 100 kHz, the video bandwidth to 3 MHz, the span to 0 Hz, and the sweep time must be 40 ms for a standard 20 ms burst time. Another useful feature of the Agilent 8562EC Spectrum Analyzer is the time-gating function. Time-gating allows the user to specify a time window, or time gate, during which a measurement will be made. This enables the user to designate the portion of a signal that they want to measure and to leave out or mask other signals that could hinder this process.
