The 8568B RF Spectrum Analyzer created by Agilent is designed for bench and ATE system use for applications including: component stimulus-response testing, broadband signal surveillance, and EMC testing. This model has a frequency range from 100 Hz to 1.5 GHz with ac and dc coupled inputs. The amplitude measurement range covers from +30 dBm to -135 dBm with 90 dB calibrated display. The dynamic range is >80 dB with < -50 dBm signal levels at the input mixer.
The Agilent 8568B RF Spectrum Analyzer has a front panel which is easily navigable. Each function available on the model can have the value set with step keys, the numeric/unit keypad, or a knob. Softkeys on the front panel can be defined with a maximum of 58 characters. Each analyzer command can be placed into a softkey, including PEAKS, UNTIL, and REPEAT firmware and program flow commands. If measurements need numerous front panel functions, they can be combined into a single softkey to ensure measurements are made easily and more swiftly.
The PWRBW function on the Agilent 8568B can calculate the power bandwidth for various signal types. The modulation bandwidth of an FM transmitter can be measured for a percent of power value chosen by the user. The PWRBW function is helpful for voice modulated measurements in SSB, FM, and AM systems as well. Another useful function of the 8568B RF Spectrum Analyzer is the FFT function, which can measure modulation frequencies and distortion. The FFT function also allows precise measurement of AM while next to incidental phase angle modulation.
