When compared to the 8647A, the 8648D Economy RF Signal Generator has improvements in frequency range, level accuracy, residual FM, phase noise, and optional high power, waveform modulation, and pulse modulation. This model also has ±1 dB absolute amplitude accuracy as high as 2.5 GHz. The 8648D has ultra stable dc FM, with ±500 Hz carrier frequency accuracy below frequencies of 1001 MHz, and low RF leakage. Receiver tuning and alignment applications greatly profit from the easy-to-use interface.
