8753C by Agilent is a Network Analyzer in the 8753 series. 8753C features a Frequency Range of 300 kHz to 3 GHz (extended to 6 GHz with Option 6) and a Dynamic range of 100 dB.

The HP Agilent 8753C Network Analyzer has a frequency range covering 300 kHz to 3 GHz, but it can be extended to 6 GHz with Option 6 added. The 8753C incorporates a high-resolution synthesized RF source and a dual channel three-input receiver to measure and display phase, group delay, and magnitude of transmitted and reflected power. This Network Analyzer has optional time-domain and swept-harmonic measurements, along with an optional step attenuator for prolonged source output power range.

The 8753C Network Analyzer has two display channels a big color CRT display screen, which show the measured data of a single channel or both channels, in rectangular or polar/Smith chart formats. The reflection and transmission characteristics can be looked at in split-screen format or overlay. Furthermore, the 8753C can be used in conjunction with a test set, which will deliver a comprehensive solution for characterizing linear behavior of active or passive devices, networks or components. The 8753C can also complete mixer tracking and conversion loss measurements. These types of measurements are possible because the tuned receiver can be offset from its synthesized source by the LO frequency of the mixer. Swept IF and fixed measurements can be performed.

An additional feature on the 8753C Network Analyzer is non-linear device characterization. Swept second-harmonic and third-harmonic levels of an amplifier can be shown directly or relative to the fundamental carrier (dBc) when utilizing the optional harmonic measurement function (Option 2). Amplifier harmonics as high as 40 dBc can be measured swiftly and with ease on a swept-frequency foundation for essential signals as low as 16 MHz.
