Description
Item #: BE-64
Manufacturer: Astronics/Talon Instruments
Series: VXI
BE-64 by Astronics/Talon Instruments is a Bus Emulator/Word Generator in the VXI series. BE-64 features 64 I/O channels and 2 clock outputs.
The BE-64 is a C size, VXI Module manufactured by Talon Instruments. This module contains the digital resources needed in digital test and troubleshooting applications and may be software arranged to handle applications such as bus emulation and simple word generation. The BE-64 can be programmed to operate in two modes: single cycle or continuous cycle mode. The continuous cycle mode permits simpler troubleshooting of the Unit Under Test (UUT).
When the Talon Instruments BE-64 is being utilized for test applications where test vectors are accessible, this module can be programmed to transmit or accept 64 channels by 32K bits for every channel at frequencies to 25 MHz. While in word generator mode, the BE-64 permits the simulation of the majority of user defined digital interfaces. The BE-64 VXI Module can also be used in combination with Talon Instruments’ serial word generator card. When they are utilized together, 2 megabits of serial information can be logged.
When the Talon Instruments BE-64 is inserted correctly into a VXI chassis, then the user can power on the chassis. The model will instantaneously complete a self-test, which assesses features such as registers, communication with the host, memory, and more. Then, the red FAIL indicator will appear. After approximately three seconds, if the BE-64 passes the self-test the FAIL indicator will turn off. Every other type of indicator will turn off and the model will be prepared for use. There is also an optional self-test fixture available, which will provide a prolonged assessment of the BE-64’s front panel I/O signals.
