Agilent E4438C ESG Vector Signal Generator
Featured with 250 kHz to 3 or 6 GHz CW Output, +17 dBm output power, and 64 MSa playback memory, the Agilent E4438C is an ESG Vector Signal Generator. This model can be operated in three modes of operation: Continuous Wave (CW), Swept Signal, and Analog Modulation. The Agilent E4438C comes equipped with a 10 MHz reference oscillator that has its own external port and can generate 50Ω low-frequency output. As a function generator, it allows the user to choose between different waveforms, which includes: sine, ramp, square, triangle, pulse, dual-sine, and noise. This model also offers variable rates for frequency modulation and variable triggering in step sweep and list modes.
As a pulse generator, the Agilent E4438C offers several features, such as internal square wave, external pulse, adjustable pulse period, adjustable pulse width, and adjustable pulse rate. This model comes with multiple internal pulse sources: external 1 dc-coupled, internal square, internal pulse, and external 2 dc-coupled. This model offers external modulation inputs for FM, I/Q, AM, and ΦM modulation and provides simultaneous modulation configurations.
The Agilent E4438C features a GPIB Connector to allow communication with different compatible devices like external controllers. In functionality, the incorporated GPIB is equal to RS-232 and LAN connectors. For its remote control and operations, there is an RS-232 serial port provided as well. This DB-9 connector can be used to handle REC, XMIT, RTS and CTS signals. The Agilent E4438C can also be controlled and programmed through a PC over the LAN, since it comes equipped with a standard LAN port.
