Description
The National Instruments ISM-7411 Integrated Stepper Drive and Motor Device, available in standard (Part Number: 783599-01) and with an encoder (Part Number: 783600-01), is designed with a NEMA 23 frame size and boasts advanced features such as microstep emulation, torque ripple smoothing, and anti-resonance for enhanced performance.
It offers Ethernet connectivity for easy integration into networks and is compatible with the LabVIEW SoftMotion Module, as well as traditional directional and step signals for versatile control options. The device requires an external power supply ranging from 12 to 70 VDC, with the PS-12 and PS-13 power supplies recommended by National Instruments.
For IP configuration, the ISM-7411 features a 16-position rotary switch that comes with pre-assigned IP addresses and also supports automatic IP address assignment via DHCP when set to position “F”. The built-in dual, 4 quadrant H-Bridge amplifier supports 4 state PWM current control at 20 kHz.
With several built-in protections such as over-temperature, undervoltage, overvoltage, and overcurrent, the device ensures safe operation and will automatically initiate an over-temperature shutdown at approximately 85°C to prevent damage.
