Description

The National Instruments PXI-1056 Dual-stack High-speed Chassis is a versatile platform designed for modular instrumentation, which supports both 3U and 6U form factors, allowing for a diverse range of application scenarios. With a total slot capacity of up to 17 slots for 3U modules—thanks to converters—and 7 slots for 6U modules, this chassis can accommodate a wide array of modules, including custom 6U modules and top-tier RF modules, ensuring compatibility with all NI PXI embedded and remote controllers, such as Pentium M and Pentium 4 embedded controllers that can run on Windows or LabVIEW Real-Time systems.

The chassis operates reliably across a temperature range of 0 to 55 °C and features a robust power supply that is easily maintainable due to a removable power tray, facilitating a Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) of less than one minute. The front panel of the chassis is equipped with six double color LED indicators that provide immediate visual feedback on the frame status, voltage rails (+3.3, 5, +12, -12 V), fan status, and over-temperature conditions, ensuring that system health is constantly monitored.

Furthermore, the built-in AUTO/HIGH fan speed selector switch offers dynamic control over cooling, adjusting the fan speed according to the chassis inlet temperature, which helps maintain optimal operating conditions for sensitive electronics.
