    Description

The National Instruments PXI-5601 RF Downconverter is a versatile device that operates within a frequency range of 10 MHz to 6.6 GHz and features an instantaneous bandwidth of 50 MHz. It is compatible with the NI PXIe-5622 IF digitizer module and the NI PXI-5652 LO source module, and is an integral part of the NI PXIe-5663 RF Vector Signal Analyzer system configuration. The downconverter fits into any PXI Express or PXI Express Hybrid peripheral slot and comes with front panel connectors including RF IN, RF OUT, LO IN, and LO OUT—all of which are SMA female connectors with a nominal impedance of 50 Ohms and are AC coupled.

There are two LED indicators on the front panel—ACCESS LED and ACTIVE LED—that inform users of the module’s status and activity. The PXI-5601 allows for precise control over RF input attenuation, which can be adjusted in 1 dB steps from 0 to 50 dB. Designed in a 3U form factor, the downconverter requires a single PXI Express slot for installation and draws 640 mA of current at +3.3 VDC and 740 mA at -12 VDC. Furthermore, it can import and export triggers from the PXI start trigger line and the PXI trigger bus, allowing for synchronized operation within complex test systems.
