The National Instruments SC-2062 has eight electromechanical relays which are controlled by digital output signals from NI DAQ Devices, the capability to be rack-mounted, and the capability to be connected to any 8-bit digital port of many NI DAQ Devices. These DAQ Devices include the 6503, 6533, 6508, and the E Series Devices. To connect the SC-2062 to a DAQ Device, the user only needs an SC-205x Series cable adapter device. The eight electromechanical relays switch many loads that need more power than is accessible with DAQ device digital lines. The SC-2062 has two part numbers: the 776336-02 model comes with a 0.2 m NB7 SC-205X Cable and the 776336-12 comes with a 0.4 m NB7 SC-205X Cable.
There are screw terminals linked to eight sets of SPDT relay contacts on the NI SC-2062. These contacts can handle 6 A at 30 VDC or 250 Vrms. The SC-2062 also has metal standoffs so they can sit on a workbench close to the host computer. The NI SC-2062 can be rack-mounted and then covered with a flat acrylic plastic cover or a metal wraparound cover. An important fact to note is that the SC-206x Series Devices can share one 19 inch rack-mount chassis with SC-205x Series Devices when used in conjunction. In addition, each device can be grounded to the rack through the metal standoffs and chassis.
