Description
The National Instruments SCXI-1520, with part numbers 777966-20 and 186338-01, is a Universal Strain-Gauge Input Module designed to be compatible with multiple terminal blocks including SCXI-1314, SCXI-1310, TBX-96, and SCXI-1314T. It features 8 DC-coupled analog input channels and offers programmable amplifiers, a 4-pole Butterworth filter, and a 0 to 10 V programmable excitation source for each channel, enhancing measurement accuracy and flexibility.
This module supports a simultaneous-sample-and-hold mechanism using track-and-hold circuitry for precise timing in data acquisition. The SCXI-1520 is also compatible with NI-DAQmx driver software and integrates seamlessly with various software packages such as LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI, and Measurement Studio. High-speed acquisitions are made possible through its parallel mode capability when used with NI-DAQ 7.
Furthermore, the module boasts a random scanning feature, allowing users to obtain data from selected channels in any order to optimize scan times. Despite its powerful features, the SCXI-1520 maintains a compact form, weighing only 10.4 oz. and measuring 1.2 x 6.9 x 8.0 inches, with an operational temperature range from 0 to 50 °C. Although its obsolete status has been announced by National Instruments, it remains a valuable tool for a variety of measurement and testing applications.
