Prior to starting the VNA calibration procedure, it is recommended to let the VNA warm up for at least one hour. Then, install the correct adapter to the VNA port 1, so the test port has a connector that can mate to the Precision Load. For example, with the SM/PL Precision Load the 34NFKF50 is recommended. After this step, insert the Calibration Component Coefficients disk of the SC6650 into the floppy drive on the VNA. Load the Cal Kit Coefficients disk into the VNA. Press Utility Menu, Cal Component Utilities, and install the data from the floppy disk. To reset the VNA, press the Default Program button. Next, press the BeginCal button and set the calibration as described in the maintenance manual of the SM/PL Precision Load. Lastly, START CAL can be chosen on screen and the prompts can be followed. Link the correct calibration requirements to finish the calibration.

Other than the VNA calibration procedure, there are also return loss verification and DC resistance verification procedures that can be performed on the Anritsu SM/PL Precision Load as well.
