Tektronix TLA5204 Logic Analyzer

Featured with 136 Channels, the TLA5204 is a Logic Analyzer from the TLA5000 Series by Tektronix.  This model comes with an integrated, MS Windows XP Professional based PC controller. Thus, it is an efficient fusion of a high performance PC and an interface board. The mother board contains the central processing unit (microcontroller), I/O components, battery, and various other components usually used with a PC. In addition, there are two Serial Ports, two IDE interfaces, one parallel port, four USB 2.0 Ports (two internal, two external), one Floppy Drive interface, one PS/2 mouse port, one PS/2 keyboard port, and a secondary display connector.

The interface board contains the LPU circuitry, internal display and external display connector, and various other components, including the power distribution circuitry. The interface board acts like a bridge between the mother board and the rest of the instrument. In the Tektronix TLA5204, the entire acquisition system is managed by the LPU circuitry. The LPU circuitry comes with an independent 68360 microprocessor.

This logic analyzer offers 16 trigger states with a maximum 16 if/then clauses per state, 8 events, and actions per If/Then clause. The TLA5204 Logic Analyzer comes with 2 counter/timers, 4 range recognizers, 16 transition recognizers, and 16 word recognizers. This logic analyzer comes with a simultaneous display capability. Thus, the user can operate the secondary display (external display) and front-panel display (integrated display) simultaneously, while using the same resolution. Moreover, the external display (secondary display) can also be operated at an independent resolution.
