The 3653A Calibration Kit designed by Anritsu has every precision component and tool necessary to calibrate an Anritsu VectorStar MS4640A or Lightning 37xxx Series Vector Network Analyzer for 12-term error-corrected measurements. This calibration kit is designed for test devices that have Type N connectors. The 3653A contains components for calibrating male and female test ports. The Anritsu 3653A supports calibration with shorts, open, and broadband loads. Sliding loads are unavailable for this calibration kit.

The Anritsu 3653A Calibration Kit contains a calibration coefficients diskette, a 01-224 pin depth gauge, a 01-213 reference gauge, male and female adapters, and several more components. The male and female Type N connectors have a pin depth of 0.207 in. and a gauge setting of 0.207. Connectors have a limited life time and typically a specified maximum connect/disconnect. This is usually 5,000 connections. The majority will endure more connections, but improper usage and rough handling can damage a connector before 5,000 connections have been completed. Proper connector performance can be completed by: cleaning, correct gauging techniques, correct connection and disconnection techniques with a torque wrench, and periodic visual inspections.

The 3653A Calibration Kit conforms with the standards of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). They deliver the foundation for giving out a calibration certification label. The components are accurate and repeatable and should be treated carefully for a longer life. The magnification for connector inspection for harm is 2X minimum for Type N connectors, such as the type in the 3653A Calibration Kit.
