The improved display on the 54600B Oscilloscope provides the user with waveform slew rate data, similar to analog oscilloscope displays. Furthermore, the 54600B has brighter traces representing waveforms which are gradually being altered and dimmer traces representing waveforms that are being altered swiftly. Another feature of this model is pretrigger viewing, which allows the user to look at incidents that they would not be able to spot with an analog oscilloscope. Pretrigger viewing permits the user to view what happened prior to the trigger incident, so they can troubleshoot more competently. The 54600B Oscilloscope also has an autoscale feature. Autoscale takes away the predicament of having to reset the scope each time the user moves the probe from one test point to another. Instead, the user has to press the autoscale button and the time, voltage, and trigger limits will be set automatically.

With the 54600B Oscilloscope, automatic measurements of frequency, time, and voltage can be completed, along with user-defined cursor measurements. These features ensure that waveform characterization is a swift and simple process. Additionally, the peak detect function allows the user to discover narrow glitches.
