8350B by Agilent is a Sweep Oscillator Mainframe in the 835xx series. 8350B features a Source Output VSWR (50 ohm nominal) of <1.9, typical Agilent 83596B/97B/98A/99A Only: <2.0 and an External AM Frequency Response of 100 kHz.

The HP Agilent 8350B Sweep Oscillator Mainframe must be used with an RF plug-in unit to be a fully operating unit, which will run in the chosen frequency range. The 83500 Series of RF Plug-in units are meant to be used with the 8350B. If the 11869A RF Plug-in adapter is added, then the 86200 Series of RF Plug-ins can also be used with the 8350B. The HP Agilent 8350B Sweep Oscillator can be used in conjunction with the 8410/8510 Network Analyzers, the 8756/8757 Scalar Analyzers, and the Microwave Link Analyzers for a fully operating measurement system.

The 8350B Sweep Oscillator can be locally run from the front panel, which is set up to enhance the function blocks operation. Sweep modes, marker operation, frequency modes, data entry controls, and storage register controls are separately clustered for simple operation and complete control flexibility. There is also a remote programming interface available with the HP-IB. The HP-IB delivers a remote operator with equivalent control of the sweep oscillator as would be available to a manual local operator.

The 8350B demands that the AC power line frequency range from 50 to 60 Hz. If Option 400 is added on to the instrument, then it can run with a 400 Hz AC power line frequency. Option 400 also reverses the ventilation fan, so the air emits from the rear of the model instead. Another option that can be added is Option 850, which has the Source Control Cable utilized to synchronize the 8350B and 8410B Network Analyzer, while completing multi-octave magnitude and phase measurements.
