The Tektronix P5102 is a high-voltage passive probe created to be used with the Tektronix THS700 Series of Handheld Digital Storage Oscilloscopes. When the P5102 is used with an oscilloscope, the probe will provide the isolation for the measurement from earth ground and complete isolation among the channels. The P5102 has a floating common and is suitable for measuring and troubleshooting power supplies and high-voltage instruments. This probe delivers 10X attenuation of signals as high as 1000 V RMS and derated performance as high as 100 MHz. The tip of the probe is a 6-32 threaded post that can accept both optional and regular accessories. The Tektronix P5102 probe is designed to international safety requirements.

The P5102 high-voltage passive probe has a nominal length of 2 m, 10X attenuation, 100 MHz bandwidth, a typical rise time of 3.5 ns, and 24 to 28 comp. range in pF. This probe does not have a readout capability. The operating temperature ranges from -15 to +55 degrees C.

The Tektronix P5102 probe has several accessories. For example, the probe tip extender (P6000) can be utilized to link the probe to bigger test sockets in equipment or on printed circuit boards. The probe-to-BNC adapter can be used to link the probe straight to BNC connectors. The small hook tip is used when connecting to small conductors like component leads. Color markers aid the user in specifying probe inputs quickly. A single marker should be clipped by the probe head, with another marker of the same color clipped by the compensation box.
