The bandwidth of the probe only is 1 GHz, but it will deliver a 500 MHz system bandwidth when used with Tektronix 500 MHz oscilloscopes. The Tektronix P6243 Active Probe gives the mechanical and electrical performance needed for modern digital systems designs. This active probe has high-speed signal acquisition and low circuit loading, which is necessary for resolving issues that designers encounter. Furthermore, the P6243 Active Probe is powered by the TEKPROBE BNC interface, which eradicates the necessity for more power supplies and cables when used with TEKPROBE BNC oscilloscopes.
The Tektronix P6243 Active Probe has great signal acquisition on surface mount devices when compared to the higher capacitance loading on passive probes. This probe has ≤1 pF capacitive loading, which enables it to measure high-speed signals without interfering with the signal or device under test. The P6243 Active Probe delivers scope bandwidth at the probe tip for the TDS500/600/700 Series, along with the TDS3000 Series as high as 1 GHz bandwidth. The accessories and adapters that come with the probe also allow for SMDs to be attached with ease.
The P6243 Active Probe has a 1.3 m cable length, an attenuation of 10X, a rise time <350 ps, a linear dynamic range of ±8 V, and max voltage (nondestruct DC + PkAC) of ±15 V.
