The SG5010 Precision Audio Oscillator is manufactured by Tektronix. The SG5010 is ideal for R&D, service, and manufacturing applications. This model is built for use with the Tektronix TM5000 Mainframe Power Module. The TM5006A can support as many as six single-width TM500 and/or TM5000 plug-ins. The TM5003 can accept as many as three single-wide TM500 and/or TM5000 plug-ins. The TM5000 Mainframes are a cost-effective option for test and measurement instrumentation. The Tektronix TM5000 Power Modules have a switching dc power supply, forced air cooling, and rear panel interface connections when Option 2 is added.
The Tektronix SG5010 offers useful features, such as: low distortion, GPIB compatibility, and five types of waveforms. The waveform types include square wave, sine wave burst, CCIF intermodulation test signal, sine wave, and SMPTE/DIN intermodulation test signal. Each signal can be swept in amplitude or frequency.
The SG5010 has a five-digit LED display, which specifies parameter values, units, and indicators for both the addressed and remote states. There are three types of source impedances that can be chosen. The output signal can be balanced or unbalanced, floating or grounded. Ten full front-panel setups can be saved in the nonvolatile memory and accessed from the front-panel pushbuttons or through the GPIB. Upon powering off the SG5010, the front-panel setups are retained and utilized when it is turned on again. Also, the output amplitude can be programmed anywhere from 0.2 mV to 21.2 V peak equivalent V rms, providing as high as 28 dBm into a 600 ohm load.
