TDS3GM by Tektronix is a Communication Module in the TDS3000 series. TDS3GM features RS-232 and GPIB interfaces and a DB-9 male connector.

The TDS3GM is a communication module by Tektronix designed for use with the TDS3000 Series Digital Phosphor Oscilloscopes. Since the TDS3000 series has several optional application and communication modules, these oscilloscopes can be tailored to each user’s specific requirements or upgraded without having to send them back to the manufacturer. Like the other application modules in the series, the TDS3GM module can be installed by the user with ease. As many as four application modules can be installed at once, but only a single communication module can be installed at a time. The standard TekProbe Level II interface delivers power to a variety of accessories for certain applications. Upon powering on the model, the oscilloscope will specify which modules, if any, are installed.

The hardcopy Centronics port is standard on the TDS3000 Series Oscilloscopes. However, the Tektronix TDS3GM Communication Module adds both GPIB and RS-232 ports to the oscilloscope. The TDS3GM comes equipped with WaveStar Software for oscilloscopes, with 30-day, completely working product demonstration. The GPIB programmability includes complete talk/listen modes, control of every mode, setting, and measurement. The RS-232 interface programmability also has comprehensive talk/listen modes, as well as control of every mode, setting, and measurement. In addition, the RS-232 interface has a baud rate as high as 38,400 and has a DB-9 male type connector. With the use of this module, the user has the capability to connect a printer to the ports. The ports can also be utilized for remote programming. Lastly, the TDS3GM module comes with a programmer manual for helpful instructions on installation.
