The THS720A Handheld Digital Oscilloscope created by Tektronix is ideal for floating measurements, troubleshooting video monitors, waveform assessment and archive, and capturing and measuring complicated digital signals. The THS720A can be used for benchwork or site work for electronic applications. This model is a combination of a Digital Real-Time oscilloscope with a True RMS digital multimeter. Scope and meter modes can run at the same time and on their own on the same or different signals. There is a high-resolution, backlit display screen.

The Tektronix THS720A has a battery life around two hours. However, the battery life can be prolonged with the automatic Power Off Time-out feature or the Backlight Time-out feature. The oscilloscope will shut down when the battery is running low. A low-battery message will appear in the display as a warning approximately 10 minutes before it turns off. If possible, let the battery fully discharge before charging it. External power may be used to charge the battery while it is in the oscilloscope. The other option is to use an optional external battery charger.

The THS720A Handheld Digital Oscilloscope has a bandwidth of 100 MHz, a sample rate of 500 MS/s on every channel, a time/division range of 5 ns to 50 s/div, and a record length of 2,500 points. This model has 21 automatic measurements, advanced trigger options, and RS/232 programmability/communications. Several of the automatic measurements include: Burst Width, Cycle RMS, RMS, Amplitude, Max, Min, Mean, Peak-to-Peak, High, Low, Rise Time, Fall Time, and various others.
