The TDS224 Digital Real-Time Oscilloscope manufactured by Tektronix can be used in several applications, such as education/training, design/debug, manufacturing tests and quality control, and service and repair. This oscilloscope has many valuable features, including: an autoset function, waveform and setup memories, five automatic measurements, a dual timebase, and numerous languages for the user to choose from. Additionally, the TDS224 has optional modules, software, and probing for even more capabilities. This model has four channels, a 100 MHZ bandwidth, a sample rate of 1 GS/s on every channel, and a 2500 sample point record length for each channel.

On the Tektronix TDS224, two 2500 point reference waveforms can be display onscreen at a time. However, a maximum of four 2500 point reference waveforms can be saved in the non-volatile storage simultaneously, along with five front panel setups. This Digital Real-Time Oscilloscope has a backlit LCD, which can be replaced. The contrast on the display screen can be altered by the user for maximum clarity. With the optional extension modules, GPIB, Centronics, and RS-232 communications ports can be added with ease. The RS-232 and GPIB programmability enables complete talk/listen modes and control of every setting, mode, and measurement.

Since the Tektronix TDS224 Digital Real-Time Oscilloscope only weighs 3.75 pounds with accessories, it can be easily transported from one place to another, which further enhances the flexibility of this model. The probes that come standard with this model are the P6112 100 MHz 10X Passive Probes; there should be one for each channel. However, there are several other types of probes that can be used with the TDS224, including: the P5200 High Voltage Differential Probe, the P6101B 1X Passive Voltage Probe, the P6022 120 MHz AC Current Probe, and others.
