The Tektronix THS720P is an Oscilloscope/DMM suitable for applications such as power quality surveys, floating (nongrounded) system measurements, field or bench electronic troubleshooting, and industrial electronic equipment troubleshooting. The THS720P is equipped with features for electrical/power measurements, which enable analysis and confirmation of accurate operation of motors, checking transformer competency, confirming power-supply performance, and measuring the results of neutral current. Some of these characteristics include harmonic analysis, statistics, and PWM motor drive triggering, along with troubleshooting and confirmation of complex electronic control circuits controlling the high-voltage power-electronics circuitry.

The Tektronix THS720P Oscilloscope has a bandwidth of 100 MHz, a sample rate of 500 MS/s on every channel, 21 automatic measurements, a time/division range of 5 ns to 50s/div, and a 2,500 point record length. The Tektronix THS720P can measure harmonics up to 31^st and has 1kV high-voltage probes. This model comes with two P5102 10X Passive Probes. Another useful characteristic of this model is that the display screen has a temperature compensation feature that will remain clear and easy to read throughout a wide temperature range.

Additionally, the THS720P Oscilloscope has several features that the other oscilloscopes in the series do not, such as: advanced pulse, external, motor, and video trigger capabilities and harmonic analysis and power measurements. However, the majority of the measurement features are the same for each model in the series. The THS720P also has an RS-232 communication port, which can be utilized for loading setups, downloading waveforms, and creating hard copies. A maximum of 10 front-panel setups and 10 waveforms can be stored on this oscilloscope.
